Place de l'Odéon

Created in 1779, this semi-circular square in the current 6th arrondissement of Paris with its attractive concave-fronted buildings has never been altered.[1][2] The Café Voltaire was here and much frequented by Voltaire and his friends.[3][4]

Notable residents

Camille Desmoulins with his wife Lucile Desmoulins and Fabre d'Églantine lived in the house at 22 Rue_de_l'Odéon, at the junction with the Place de l'Odéon, until they were arrested and subsequently executed on 5 April 1794.
