Life and Teachings

Prabhu Jagatbandhu was born on 28 April 1871 in Dahapara, Murshidabad, Bengal Presidency, British India on the auspicious day of Sita Navami. His birthday is celebrated as Bandhu Navami. He was devout and would always sing the kirtans of Krishna and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

He stressed the importance of God as means of remembering and drawing close to the divine. He urged the followers to follow the life of avoiding temptation.[1]

His teachings were mainly based on-

1.Harinam

2.Brahmacarya

Once Prabhu Jagadbandu said[2]

Show kindness and compassion and do well to all creatures. Make a free gift of religion to all. Initiation in the hallowed name of Hari is the sure means of attaining salvation (i.e; deliverance from all agonies and sufferings). This is the secret of salvation. This is the secret of eternal good done to others.
