Prince Wilhelm of Schaumburg-Lippe (b. 1939)

Prince Wilhelm of Schaumburg-Lippe (Wilhelm Friedrich Harald Christian Ernst August Karl Gustav zu Schaumburg-Lippe, born 19 August 1939) is the head of the Nachod branch of the princely house of Schaumburg-Lippe. Wilhelm is the son of Prince Christian Nicholas of Schaumburg-Lippe, and the great-grandson of Frederick VIII of Denmark, twice over, since his parents were second cousins.[1]

He married Ilona Hentschel Baronin von Gilgenheimb on 17 January 1971. They had two children:

He is in the line of succession to the British throne as a descendant of George II of the United Kingdom's granddaughter Queen Caroline Matilda of Denmark and Norway.[2] He is the second or third cousin of almost every reigning monarch in Europe.
