Queen Silvia Nursing Award

The Queen Silvia Nursing Award is a yearly scholarship award that was established in 2013 as a gift to Queen Silvia of Sweden for her 70th birthday.[1][2][3] Applicants for the scholarship are required to showcase an idea that promotes long term health and social care, particularly in the area of dementia and elderly care.[4][5] The Scholarship application process has so far generated over 1.000 new ideas in its intended field. In addition to the award sum of 6.000€ the recipient of the award is also offered a 6-12 month internship in the field of healthcare within the students own country as well as abroad. The internship is offered by the partners of the scholarship in each territory.

During 2017 the scholarship program will expand to further countries, with Germany being announced as the next one.
