Racism in China
COVID-19 pandemic
During the COVID-19 pandemic, there were reports of discrimination against Africans in Guangzhou.[5][6][7]
Teacher hiring
The Los Angeles Times and Vice Media alleged a hiring preference for white English teachers in China over other groups.[8][9] In 2014, a Media Diversified article by a former English teacher in Ningbo alleged the English teaching industry was responsible for "painting the image of ‘good English’ as a domain reserved for white people" and highlighted the need for a more diverse staff in the industry.[10]
