History
Realising the growing need for technical education and the lack of government funded colleges in the western region the foundation for the college was laid down by the then government of Uttar Pradesh in the year 2009. The initial classes were held from 2009 till 2014 in the HBTI Campus Kanpur. The college was then shifted to its current location in Chandpur Bijnor. Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Engineering College for Information Technology was renamed in 2015 as Rajkiya Engineering College,Bijnor.
Branches
REC Bijnor currently offers bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering,Civil Engineering,Computer Science Engineering,Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering. At present the college is functioning in Chandpur, Bijnor.
Campus
The Main Building includes the Administrative block, Central Library and Respective departmental laboratories and comprises Class Rooms, Lecture Halls, Seminar Halls, Conference Rooms etc., The campus does not have any canteen or cafeteria running during college hours. The college premises offer residents to teaching faculties and Heads of the Institution. Hostel and Mess facilities are provided for the students of respective years. The campus houses an Activity Centre a building dedicated to extra extracurricular activities.
Cultural and Sport Events
The college celebrates its annual cultural festival SPANDAN in the month of April every year along with the annual sports meet, these events usually lasts for about a week.
