Rao Sahib L.C. Gurusamy

Rao Saheb L.C. Gurusamy (1885-1966), was an educatior, politician, activist and reformer.[1]

He was born in Arunthathiyar community to Kottappa at Perambur, Tamil Nadu.[2]

He was one of the founding member of 'Adi Dravida Mahajana Sabha' and later founded ‘Arunthathiyar Mahasabha’ in 1920 with H. M. Jaganathan.[3]

He was nominated to Madras Legislative Council till 1920 to 1930 and was made Honorary Magistrate in Labour Court where he serves for 22 years.[4]

He also served as Director of a Madras Co-operative Bank, Senator of Madras University and elected to the Madras Municipal Council.[5]

In 1927, British government conferred him with the title of "Rao Saheb" for his contribution towards depressed classes of Tamil Nadu.
