Rashaad Newsome

Rashaad Newsome is an American visual artist[1] and the 2017 winner of the Artist & Edition Award of the Baltimore Contemporary Print Fair.[2][3][4]

Life and work

Newsome was born in New Orleans in 1979.[5] He obtained a Bachelor of Art degree in Art History from Tulane University in 2001[6] and also an alumnus of Film/Video Arts Inc., New York.[7]

His work has been shown by the Brooklyn Museum (NYC), New Orleans Museum of Art (LA), the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (Madison, WI), and also featured in numerous public collections including the Whitney Museum of American Art (NYC),[8] The Brooklyn Museum of Art (NYC), The Studio Museum (NYC), Los Angeles County Museum of Art (CA), Whitney Biennial (NYC), and in Greater New York at MoMAPS1 (NYC).[9][10][11]
