Ready to Go Home
"Ready to Go Home" is a hymn written by Hank Williams. He recorded it as a demo in 1951 in Nashville[1] and it was released as a posthumous single by MGM Records in 1957. Unlike many of the posthumous singles MGM released after his death, which were mostly salvaged radio performances and scratchy demos, "Ready to Go Home" is remarkable for its clarity, sharpened further by the fact that it features Williams alone with his guitar.
