René Vigliani

René Vigliani (born 24 July 1929 in Arles, France) was a French international football referee.[1][2]

Career

He was member of FIFA in 1967–78 and refereed seven international matches.[3] He officiated two matches in EURO 1976 qualifying and 5 friendly matches. He also refereed a match in U21 EURO 1978.

In club football he officiated some UEFA competition matches such as Champions League (1), UEFA Cup (12) and Cup Winners Cup (3).[4] He refereed 259 Ligue 1 matches in 1965–80. He also officiated 1971 Coupe de France Final.

Controversial episodes

There were two controversial decisions by Vigliani in 1975-76 UEFA Cup (1st leg of quarter final Milan-Brugge 2-1) and Ligue 1 match.[5][6]
