Reservation Dogs is an upcoming American comedy television series, created by Taika Waititi and Sterlin Harjo. The series is slated to premiere in 2021 on FX on Hulu in the U.S., and in international markets on Star through Disney+.[1]

Premise

The series follows the lives of four Native teenagers in rural Oklahoma, as they spend their days committing crime, and fighting it.[2]

Production

Development

The series was first reported on in November 2019, and was confirmed by Taika Waititi on Twitter shortly after.[3] The initial report announced that Waititi would be co-writing the series with Native American filmmaker Sterlin Harjo, who would also share executive producer and directing duties with Waititi.[4] After the pilot had been shot in Okmuglee, Oklahoma, FX announced a series order for the project in December 2020. The casting of the series lead four actors, D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Deverey Jacobs, Paulina Alexis, and newcomer Lane Factor, was also confirmed at this time, alongside a group of guest stars to be featured in the pilot episode.[2]

Release

The series will be released through Hulu, as a part of FX on Hulu, in the United States. In international markets, it will be distributed through the Star portion of the Disney+ streaming service. The series is set to premiere on both services in 2021.[1]
