Riley is a unisex given name derived either from the English surname Riley or the Irish surname Reilly.[1] Until the 1990s and early 2000s, Riley was primarily a boys name in the United States. However, in 2017, it was the 25th most popular name for girls and the 252nd most popular for boys.[2] In the United Kingdom, it is still primarily a boy's name, and was the 40th most popular name for boys in 2016.[3]
