Robert Héliès

Robert Héliès (8 February 1927 in Toulon, France - 19 February 2019[1]) was a French goalkeeper and international football referee.[2]

Player career

He played 8 matches in 1951–52 French Division 1 for AS Saint-Étienne.[3]

Referee career

After playing career he became referee and was member of FIFA in 1966–77. He officiated 13 international matches.[4] Héliès officiated 3 matches in World Cup qualifying 1970 (1), 1974 (1), 1978 (1), 5 matches is EURO qualifying 1968 (1), 1972 (3), 1976 (1) and 4 friendly matches. He also refereed a match in 1976 Olympic Games.

In club football he officiated some UEFA competition matches such as Champions League (7), UEFA Cup (12) and Cup Winners Cup (10).[5] He refereed 270 Ligue 1 matches in 1962–77. He officiated two Coupe de France finals in 1970 and 1975.
