Robert Lees (politician)
Robert Lees (July 3, 1842 – September 21, 1908) was an American politician who served as a member of the Wisconsin State Senate and the Wisconsin State Assembly.

Biography
Lees was born on July 3, 1842 in Coatbridge, Scotland.[1] He later moved to Cross, Wisconsin.[2] His father, Edward Lees served as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. During the American Civil War, Lees was a member of the 6th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment of the Union Army and served with the Iron Brigade.[3] He was wounded during the Battle of Gettysburg.[4]
Lees was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1873 before representing the 29th District of the Senate. He was elected Buffalo County, Wisconsin judge in 1881 and held the position until his death.[3] In addition, he was a member of the Alma, Wisconsin School Board. Lees was a Democrat.[3]
On March 4, 1865, Lees married Mary Baertsch. They had six children. Lees died of a stroke in La Crosse, Wisconsin on September 21, 1908.[3]
