Roberto Briche

Roberto Briche (c.1510-1560s) was an English sailor and conquistador, who took part of Pedro de Mendoza's expedition to the Rio de la Plata.[1]

Briche was born in Spalding, England, and arrived in the New World in 1536 as part of the English contingent at the service of the Spanish Crown.[2] He had witnessed the murder of the conqueror Juan de Osorio, perpetrated by his rival Juan de Ayolas.[3] He returned to Spain with Mendoza, participating in the trial for the death of Osorio.[4]
