Roberto Rivas Reyes

Roberto José Rivas Reyes is President of Nicaragua's Supreme Electoral Council.[1] Rivas has been President of the Council since 2000,[2] though as of January 2018, vice-president Lumberto Campbell served as acting head.[3]

Rivas’s brother, Harold Rivas Reyes, was Nicaragua’s Ambassador to Costa Rica from February 2007 until January 2018.[4] Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega recalled Harold Rivas from his post shortly after Roberto was sanctioned by the United States for corruption in December 2017.[5]
