Stroked the winning Thames Cup eight in 1962: breaking all course records, and breaking the U.S.A. domination of this event since 1934. In 1964, stroking a Molesey Boat club crew, won the Prince Philip Fours. Gold medalist Empire Games, coxless fours, 1958 representing England. Represented G.B in the Coxless fours in the European Championships, 1957 and 1958: finalist in both years. | |||||||||||||

Rowing career
He represented England and won a gold medal in the Coxless four at the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff, on Lake Padarn. Also represented G.B. in the Cox'less fours at the European Championships in 1957 and 1958..[1][2]
All four of the gold medal winning crew rowed for the National Provincial Bank Rowing Club.[3]
