Rose Cookies

Rose Cookies is the typical Anglo Indian cookie and the favorite among Indian Christians during Christmas season. These are similar to European Christmas fruit cakes served during Christmas eve meals.[1]

Description

Also known as Gulabi Puvvulu in Telugu.[2] In Tamil it is called as Acchu Murukku and in Malayalam it is called as Achapam. These sweet fried cookies are shaped like a rose,[3] complete with holes to represent layers of petals.[4]

They are made from flour, sugar, eggs and coconut milk and are very popular [5] in South India like Kerala.
