Ryan Lindsay (singer)

Ryan Lindsay (born 1993) is a Canadian country music artist. He has played at major country music festivals such as the Calgary Stampede and Country Thunder in Calgary.[1][2]

Early life

Ryan Lindsay was raised in Wainwright, Alberta.[4]

Lindsay was a former wilderness guide and adventurer who had traveled extensively across the northern Arctic of Canada and Greenland.[5]

Career

At the age of 15, Lindsay began performing as a country music artist. He began playing professionally when he was 19, fronting a bar band. Lindsay became a solo artist in 2017.[6]

Linsday's first EP, Wild, was released in 2019.[3] Lindsay co-produced the album with Johnny Gasparic at MCC studios in Calgary.[7]

Lindsay's music videos on the album were directed by Travis Nesbitt, and have been filmed in locations across Canada such as the Great Slave Lake in the Northwest Territories.[7]

At the 2019 Alberta Country Music Awards, Lindsay won an ACMA for Rising Star.[8][9] He was also nominted for the 2019 ACMA Album of The Year, and was the 2018 winner of Country 105's Rising Star competition.[10]

Community involvement

Lindsay helped found the Spirit of the Land Foundation, which had started off at the University of Alberta at Camrose as an organization focused on community-based farm projects.[7][11]
