Sacred tree

A sacred tree is a tree which is considered to be sacred. They featured in, for example, the ancient Greek, Hindu mythology, Celtic and Germanic mythologies. They continue to hold profound meaning in Shinto, religion in China, and Akan people, among other institutions. Groups are known as sacred groves.[1]
