Sajan K. Mathew

Sajan K Mathew (born 12 March 1981) is an Indian film director and ad-film maker known for his works in Malayalam movie industry. He began his film career as an ad-film maker; later worked with movies Tamaar Padaar(2014) and God’s own Country(2014) as Assistant director.[1][2] Sajan Mathew made his directorial debut Oru Murai Vanthu Parthaya in 2016.[3][4] His second movie is 21st Baker Street (2017) and is a work in progress currently.[1][5] Sajan lives with his family in Kochi, Kerala.

Films

Sajan K. Mathew started his career in films with director Deepu Karunakaran by assisting him in ad-films, corporate films and documentaries. In feature films, he assisted Vasudev Sanal in God’s own Country(2014) and Dileesh Nair in Tamaar Padaar(2014).[2] The movie he debuted as director is Oru Murai Vanthu Parthaya(2016).[6][3][7] The movie told story about a village man and main characters were played by Unni Mukundan, Prayaga Martin and Sanusha Santhosh.[8] The music was composed by Vinu Thomas.[9][10] Sajan's latest film is 21st Baker Street and that is in pre-production stage now.[11]

Sajan K. Mathew has directed ad films for Emerging Kerala, Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB), Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC), Muthoot Group, Neyveli Lignite Corporation(NLC India Limited), Funskool and more.

Personal life

Sajan K Mathew was born in Pathanapuram, Kerala to Leelamma Mathai and K K Mathai. Sajan did schooling in St. Stephen's High School Pathanapuram. He took bachelor's degree in Law(LLB) from Kerala Law Academy, Thiruvananthapuram; followed it up with Masters in Business Administration(MBA) from University of Strathclyde,Glasgow. Later on, Mathew shifted focus to his long cherished dream career-film making. He then pursued Master of Arts (MA) in Cinema and Television from Sacred Heart College Thevara, Kochi, before venturing into film direction.
