Sam Kolias
Sam Kolias is the chairman and CEO of Boardwalk REIT (TSX: BEI.UN).[1]
In 2006, Kolias and his brother Van, Senior Vice-President of Quality Control of Boardwalk, were at #81 of the top 100 richest people in Canada as compiled by Canadian Business magazine.
The brothers got their start in 1984, using a $50,000 loan from their father. They bought a large amount of apartment real estate in Alberta and Saskatchewan. Through their public company, Boardwalk Rental Communities, they have entered British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec. Today, Boardwalk has over $4 billion in assets. The brothers share a 23% stake on a fully diluted basis.
