Sam Reese
Sam Reese (sometimes Sammy Reese) (1930–1985) was an American character actor, mainly appearing on television, but also notably appearing in the film In the Heat of the Night.
Life
He was born on 11 September 1930 in Montgomery, Alabama.
He started appearing as an actor in 1959 in the TV series The Detectives. He appeared regularly as Dr. Dan Shanks in the series Dr. Kildare. After a promising break, appearing in the award-winning In the Heat of the Night, he failed to get much more film work, but appeared regularly on television.
He died in Montgomery of a stroke on his 55th birthday in 1985.
