Sanamahi Kiyong Temple

Sanamahi Kiyong Temple (Meitei: ꯁꯅꯥꯃꯍꯤ ꯀꯤꯌꯣꯡ ꯁꯪꯂꯦꯟ) or Sanamahi Lainingkol (Meitei: ꯁꯅꯥꯃꯍꯤ ꯂꯥꯢꯅꯤꯡꯀꯣꯜ) is a temple of Meitei deity Lord Lainingthou Sanamahi.[4][5] It is situated on the hilltop of Nongmaiching Hill, in Imphal East district of Manipur, India.[6][7] It is often confused with the Sanamahi Temple of Imphal West district of Manipur.

Significance

The temple is serving as one of the Tourist destination in the state. Besides, it is one of the religious destination for the followers of Sanamahism including the Rongmei Naga people, Zeliangrong people, Bishnupriya Manipuri people and the Manipuri aka Meitei people from across the country and abroad. In a sacred Puya (Meitei texts), it was predicted years before that a grand temple would be consecrated on the hilltop of the Nongmaiching Hill. And now, it was fulfilled.
