Sanjib Sarkar

Sanjib Sarkar (Bengali: সঞ্জীব সরকার) is an Indian sound designer, music director and film score composer[3][4][5]

Early life

He was born on 16 November 1986 in Bankura, West Bengal, India, to Bengali parents, Debi Prasad Sarkar and Ratna Sarkar. He stayed in Bankura until he was 18, when Sarkar moved to Kolkata after completing Higher Secondary from Akui Union high School, He started learning classical music from his Guruji Sri Provash Dey and received training in Sound Design from Sri. Pankaj Seal (SRFTI)[6]

Education

He is an alumnus of Bangabasi Morning College (University of Calcutta).

After completed his graduation he started composing jingle music for various brands including:

Film Music

I remembered I was in my family Durga Puja In Bankura. Suddenly got a call from the director of Umformung: The Transformation, He told me that you have own Prestigious "Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival Award" I simply closed my eyes and thanks to Maa Durga. I noticed a lot of curiosity in the Temple ground and 'I couldn't hold my tears.

Sarkar got his first break as a film score composer with Sudhamoy Babur Advut Galpo directed by Anindya Chatterjee. Thereafter, he composed for several films like Langto - The Film[9] Third Genaretion (3G 2010). He first received popular acclaim with the film Masoom in 2014 which was produced by PB Films. The track "Halka Nesha Halka"[10] with a hip hop beat became an internet hit ahead of the release of the film. His next film Na Jene Mon[11][12] (2014) was produced by Saregama, his music received positive reviews. Thereafter Sarkar signed to his first Hindi feature film Umformung: The Transformation[13] for which he received best Music Director Award from "Cine India Film Festivel" (CIFF 2014), Mumbai, and from the "Free Spirit Film Festivel" (FSFF 2014) McLeodganj, the Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival 2015, the Noida International film festival 2015, and the Euro Film Festival 2016 in Spain.[14][15][16] and the Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival.[17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27] In 2017, he received Best Music Award for the film Paradiso at the NIFF film festival in Delhi.[28]
