Biography

Early years

The band Satanakozel (Russian for Satan the goat) was founded by Vasily Kozlov and Nikolay Kuskov in 2003. After some time the band started to rehearse and found their own sound. In the following five years the band had being making some demos and doing some gigs, unfortunately it did not have a wide distribution in Russia. The band changed their members several times since their formation in 2003.

First album (2007-2009)

They started recording their first full-length album in early 2007, which is called 'Rogatiya' (Russian : Рогатыя). It contains songs that were written in the very early years of the bands existence. The album was released by the independent Finnish record label Varjot Productions in the summer of 2008. The Russian digi-pack was released by Soundage Productions.

Second and third album (2010-present)

The second album was released in the autumn of 2010, which is called Sun of the Dead (Russian : Солнце Мёртвых). The band stated after the release of their second album that : 'SatanaKozel will never collaborate with any political movements or parties 'cause our creativity is aimed to glorification of the Nature and propaganda of Fun.'

The third album was released in the winter of 2015, which is called The North (Russian : Север). In the months before the third album was released the bassist Mr. Magister committed suicide, aged 25.[2] Dmitriy Makarov replaced him and he is still in the band to this day.
