Scoil Uí Cheithearnaigh
Scoil Uí Cheithearnaigh is an Irish-teaching primary school located in Garbally Drive, Ballinasloe, County Galway, Ireland. The school has approximately 212 pupils[1] and 13 teachers, and its site comprises nine classrooms, two offices, a hall, a library, and three playgrounds.
History
Scoil Uí Cheithearnaigh was founded in 1989 by Carmel Farrell.[2] It started off in just one house with nine pupils, later expanding to Society Street with two playgrounds, an office and four classrooms. It moved to newly built premises in 2005.
The school has won a number of prizes and awards over the years in Gaelic football, hurling, camogie, debating and quizzes. They have won an Olympic athlete flag in 2019 and a 'Green Schools Award' (an award for a clean school).
