Scrobipalpa corleyi

Scrobipalpa corleyi is a moth in the family Gelechiidae. It was described by Peter Huemer and Ole Karsholt in 2010. It is found in Portugal.[1][2]

The larvae feed on Phalacrocarpum oppositifolium. They mine the leaves of their host plant. The mine starts in the basal part of the leaf. A single larva mines several leaves. These mined leaves are knit together by silk, forming a withered bunch. Pupation takes place outside of the mine in a tough cocoon.[3]

Etymology

The species is named for Martin Corley, who bred the species.[4]
