Sergei Redkin

Sergei Redkin (Russian: Сергей Редькин) (born 27 October 1991) is a Russian classical pianist. He was born in Krasnoyarsk, and at the age of six began his studies in piano and composition at the Music Lyceum of Krasnoyarsk and the Special School of Music of the St Petersburg Conservatoire. Since 2009 Redkin studied at St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire in the class of Alexander Sandler (piano) and Alexander Mnatsakanyan (composition), and at the Lake Como International Piano Academy in 2011.[1]

Redkin won the third prize in the eighth International Competition of young pianists in the name of I. Paderevskiy in Poland (2010), the first prize at the third International Maj Lind competition in Helsinki (2012),[2] the first prize at the sixth International Prokofiev competition in Saint Petersburg (2013). In 2015 Redkin won the 3rd prize at the International Tchaikovsky competition in Moscow (split between Redkin and Daniel Kharitonov).[3] In 2017 he was awarded the 2nd prize of the Kissinger Klavierolymp.[4]

Redkin has performed with various orchestras and in recitals throughout the world, such as in Russia, Germany, Austria, USA,[5] France, Monaco,[6] Switzerland, Poland, Finland,[7] Sweden and Spain,[8] and has taken part in music festivals including the Lucerne Festival.[9][10]
