Plot

The brothers Chinnasamy (Pandiarajan) and Periyasamy (J. Livingston) live with their grandparents (Vinu Chakravarthy and Ganthimathi) in a remote village. Chinnasamy and Periyasamy have one habit that annoyed the villagers: they can only tell the truth thus exposing some controversial matters. Meanwhile, they both fall in love with the Malayali girl Sundari (Vindhya), the daughter of the ghatam vidwan Nair (Balu Anand). Because of Chinnasamy and Periyasamy's mischief, the local politicians decide to cut off electricity and water to their village, therefore, the villagers force them to leave the village. The brothers decide to move to Chennai.

During the bus ride, a thief drugs them and steals all their belongings. The brothers decide to earn money by hook or by crook so they become fraudsters. They rent a big house in Chennai and they send their income to the village. With that money, the villagers solved their issues and even build a school in their village. In the meantime, Periyasamy and Priyanka (Priyanka Shailu) fall in love with each other in Chennai. The two brothers later return to their village, the villagers welcome them with great respect and they lie about their job. Chinnasamy finally gets married to Sundari and she vows to only tell the truth. Sundari and her father move into the brothers' house in Chennai and Sundari eventually finds out their illegal activities. Chinnasamy and Periyasamy are then arrested and are sentenced to six-months imprisonment by the court. Six months later, Chinnasamy and Periyasamy return to their village.
