Shah (caste)

Shah are a Hindu caste found in the Indian states of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and cities like Mumbai.[1] Shah is short form for Shahryar - which is of Persian origin. For instance, Shahryar Mirza was the youngest son of Jehangir. Shah means 'very large' in Persian language , and it was common practice to prefix Shah before a king's name.For Example Raunak Kumar Sah and Sunil Kumar Sah
