Shivajinagar, Bangalore

Shivaji Nagar is a locality in Bangalore, India. It was named after the 17th century Maratha king Shivaji, since he spent his childhood days there.[1] Its popular for the Ramadan food mela, Christmas and St. Mary's Feast. It is also a favorite destination for street food. It has one of the biggest beef markets in Asia. Shivaji Nagar contains a fairly dense population. It also has Commercial Street, a shopping hub of Bangalore.

It also has several Sufi shrines located within, including the shrine of Kambal Posh, which is a tourist destination.

Shivajinagar Scrapyard or more locally known as Gujri Bazaar situated just opposite to Russell Market, accessible only through narrow lanes and by-lanes, is Stephen’s Square, better known as Shivajinagar gujri. An area full of automobile scrap shops. All kinds of automobile spare parts can be found here. Making it perhaps the only place in Bengaluru city where one might find an out-of-production spare part. Spread over approximately 3 sq. km, the Shivajinagar Scrapyard with around 600 shops employs more than 1,500 local residents.
