Simplilearn
Simplilearn (/ˈsɪmplɪlɜːrn/) is an online education technology company headquartered in San Francisco, California. It has offices in Raleigh, North Carolina[1] and Bangalore, India.[2] It was founded in 2010 by Krishna Kumar. The company's learning portal provides online training and certifications related to artificial intelligence, cyber security, cloud computing, project management, digital marketing, and data science.

History
In the year 2009, Simplilearn was started as a blog[3] for project management training by Krishna Kumar, an Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur alumnus.[4] By April 2010, the formal training website was launched which pushed the company towards online self-learning and scheduled instructor-led classrooms programs.[5] In 2015, the company introduced "Flexi-pass", an on-demand live instructor-led program.[6][7]
Funding
As of 2020, the company has raised $28 million from investors including Innoven Capital, Helion Venture Partners, Kalaari Capital, and Mayfield Fund.[8][9][10]
Partnerships
- In March 2019, Simplilearn and National Skill Development Council signs an agreement to provide accreditation to the latter's digital courses.[11]
- In November 2019, the company tied up with Purdue University to offer courses in artificial intelligence and machine learning.[12][13][14]
- In June 2020, Simplilearn and IBM started courses in Artificial Intelligence and data science.[15]
- In June 2020, the company entered into a partnership with South Africa-based education tech company Deviare to offer its flagship courses.[16]
- In July 2020, the company entered into a partnership with University of Massachusetts Amherst to provide online education solutions to its students and alumni through University Without Walls.[17][18] In the same month, Simplilearn-CalTech's Center for Technology and Management Education (CTME) started jointly offering a DevOps Post Graduate Program, a cloud computing course.[19][20]
- In November 2020, Simplilearn announced a new post-graduate digital marketing course in collaboration with Purdue University.[21]
Mergers and acquisitions
In 2015, Simplilearn acquired Santa Cruz based internet marketing training portal "Market Motive" for $10 million.[22][23][9]
