Skybox Security is a computer security company.
History
Skybox Security was cofounded in 2002 by Eran Reshef[1] and Gidi Cohen,[2] who serves as the company's CEO.[3] The company is headquartered in San Jose, California and R&D offices in Herzliya Israel.[4] In 2016 Skybox received $96 million in funding.[5] In 2017 Skybox raised $150 million in venture capital funding from CVC Capital Partners' Growth Fund and Pantheon,[6][7] for an overall total of $314 million since its founding.[2] In 2004 the company introduced Skybox View, a security software suite, which models and analyzes computer data in order to establish what patches are needed to fix vulnerabilities and IPS signatures that stop malicious packets from reaching vulnerable assets.[8] The suite aided companies in meeting government compliance measures for data security.[9][10] It updated the suite in 2006 to include network risk analysis and firewall auditing software.[11] In 2009 it received funding to produce risk management software.[12][13]
Software
The company develops the Skybox Security Suite, which consists of a collection of modules for vulnerability management, threat intelligence management, firewall auditing, compliance auditing, and firewall change management.[14][15]
Research
The company also runs the Skybox Research Lab,[16] a security intelligence arm that aggregates intelligence from public and private sources, and tracks sites in the dark web.[17] The company also produces reports on trends in vulnerabilities.[18][19][20]
