Snak the Ripper

William Scott Fyvie (born November 16, 1982), better known as Snak the Ripper is a Canadian rapper and record producer from New Westminster, British Columbia.[2]

Affiliations

Snak The Ripper is one of the founding members of the Stompdown Killaz hip hop collective (SDK).[2] In 2010, Snak The Ripper became a member of 100MAD (hip hop collective founded by Fredro Starr & Sticky Fingaz of Queens, New York rap group Onyx).[2] He is also the founder, president and CEO of Stealth Bomb Records.[3]

Early Years

Snak The Ripper grew up in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, a suburb located just outside Vancouver, BC. He attended Garibaldi Secondary School from grade 8 through 11 before dropping out.[4] In 2001, he was charged with 150 counts of mischief, but due to lack of evidence, the charges were dropped.[2] Between 2003 and 2006, Snak moved around between Vancouver, Montreal & Toronto to perfect his Graffiti skills and build notoriety in the Canadian Hip Hop Scene[5] Snak The Ripper was homeless and struggled with substance abuse, using his love for writing songs as an escape.[6]

Career

Snak released his debut album "The Ripper" in 2007. Snak The Ripper's 2016 release, From The Dirt, debuted at #1 on iTunes Hip Hop & Rap Charts.[7][8] He was nominated for Hip Hop Recording of the year at the Western Canadian Music Awards in 2015 and 2016.[9]

In 2012, Snak The Ripper collaborated with Dubstep producer Datsik.[10] He collaborated with Crooked I,[11] Snowgoons,[12] Ill Bill,[13] Mobb Deep[14] and Onyx.[15] In 2016 Snak The Ripper collaborated with Outlawz.[16] In 2020 he collaborated with Dax and Classified.[17]
