Sohbat

Sohbat is a traditional food of southern districts of Khyber pakhtunkhwah also called “Painda” in pushto.Painda is a pushto word which means “a group of People sitting together”.This dish is equally popular in saraiki belt of this region also called Damaan(Damaani sobat).Sohbat is served as an honour and respect to the guests in these areas. Sohbat or Painda is prepared with chicken or beef stock.Special kind of bread(Paasti or maane) pieces are soaked in chicken or beef stock and topped with salad,raita and lemon.It is served in a large dish called “Thaal”,which is meant to serve a group of three to seven people.
