Born in Okcheon, North Chungcheong, he was the best friend of Song Siyeol. His daughter, Lady Song, is the mother of Queen Inhyeon, who would become the second wife of King Sukjong.

Relations with the Royal Family

Song Jun-gil's family line from his second daughter had made him the maternal grandfather of Min Jin-hu, Min Jin-won, Queen Inhyeon, and Min Jin-yeong. He eventually became the 7th half great-grandfather of Grand Internal Princess Consort Sunmok, 5th great-grandfather of Empress Myeongseong and the 6th great-grandfather of Empress Sunmyeong. As Empress Myeongseong became queen, she kept close connections to her 5th great-grandmother's, Lady Eunseong and her 4th great-grandmother's family. She made the U-bok the grandson of Jeong Gyeong-se in which the Eunjin Song clan and the Jinju Jeong clan were favored during Gojong's reign as they were also his relatives.[1]
