Career

Song Kang made his television debut in the 2017 romantic-comedy The Liar and His Lover, in which he portrayed the main character's childhood friend.[2] The same year, he was cast in the family drama Man in the Kitchen.[3] He also appeared in two music videos: "Sweet Summer Night" by acoustic duo The Ade and "Love Story" by Suran.[4][5] He participated in Namoo Actors's "Introduction to Rookies" fan meeting on July 8, 2017 alongside Oh Seung-hoon and Lee Yoo-jin.[6]

Song hosted SBS's music program broadcast Inkigayo from February to October 2018 alongside Seventeen's Mingyu and DIA's Jung Chae-yeon.[7] He made his film debut in the film Beautiful Vampire in July 2018.[8] Song also became a fixed member of the variety show Village Survival, the Eight.[9] He was nominated in the "Rookie Award" category during the 2018 SBS Entertainment Awards for his work on Inkigayo and Village Survival, the Eight.[10]

In 2019, Song played a supporting role in When the Devil Calls Your Name, an adaptation of Goethe's Faust.[11] The same year, he landed his first lead role in the Netflix television series Love Alarm.[12] He later appeared in Vibe's "Call Me Back" music video.[13]

In 2020, Song starred in Netflix's Sweet Home, adapted from the webtoon of the same name.[14] Song is set to star in the upcoming tvN series Navillera in 2021.[15]
