Sree Guruvayoor Mahathmyam

Sree Guruvayoor Mahathmyam (mythological theme) is a 1984 Indian Malayalam film, directed by P. Bhaskaran. This film is based on the historic importance, religious beliefs and divinity behind the Guruvayur Temple, one of the most popular temples of Lord Sree Krishna in India located in Thrissur District, Kerala State. This film is produced by Guruvayur Devaswom. The shooting was done entirely inside the temple premises. Apart from depicting the history in detail, the film had slokams from Geethagovindam, Jnanapana, Narayaneeyam and Srikrishnakarnamritham. These slokams were rendered by Yesudas, Dr. Balamuralikrishna, M. G. Radhakrishnan, P. Leela, P. Susheela, S. Janaki, Sushama, Kalyani Menon, Ben King sait. Other songs in the film are "Anjanavarnanaamunni...." (Kalyani Menon), "Gurupavanapuranilaye..." (Radhakrishnan & Party) "Kannane Kaninaal Kandu..." (Yesudas) [1][2] This was the last film of P. Bhaskaran as director, though he later directed some television serials.
