Stepan Ryabchenko

Stepan Ryabchenko was born on October 17, 1987, in Odessa in a family of artists. His father, Vasiliy Ryabchenko, is one of the key figures in contemporary Ukrainian art, and the New Ukrainian Wave;[4] Stepan's grandfather, Sergey Ryabchenko, was a Soviet and Ukrainian graphic artist.[5][6]

He graduated from the Odessa State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture in 2011 with a master's degree in Architecture.[7]

From 2020 Stepan Ryabchenko is the chief curator of the Art Laboratory creative organization.[1]

Stepan Ryabchenko uses digital tools to create art,[8] in both still and computer-animated forms,[9] including imaginary plants, animals, and virtual landscapes.[10] In other works, Ryabchenko draws his conception of computer viruses,[11] [12] or visualizes his interpretation of mankind's relationship with his virtual and natural environment.[13]

Stepan Ryabchenko's works have been exhibited at the Ludwig Museum in Budapest,[14][15] Saatchi Gallery in London,[16] Krolikarnia in Warsaw,[17] Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb[18] and Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum in Bratislava,[19] Manege and Gostiny Dvor in Moscow[20] as well as PinchukArtCentre, Mystetskyi Arsenal,[21][22] National Art Museum, Odessa Museum of Western and Eastern Art,[23][24] National Cultural Center "Ukrainian House",[25] M17 Contemporary Art Center,[26] Modern Art Research Institute, etc.[27]

Ryabchenko's works are included in the collections of Art Collection Telekom,[28] the Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum, M17 Contemporary Art Center,[29] the Odessa Fine Art Museum,[30] and the Museum of Odessa Modern Art.[31][32]
