Stephan Zirwes

Stephan Zirwes (born 1967) is a German photographer. During the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, his work was printed on the floor in large sizes for people to enjoy virtually.[1] Zirwes' goal is to make people appreciate their access to public water supply[2] and increase environmental awareness.[3] He uses drones and helicopters[4] to increase awareness on water being the earth's most important resource.[5]

Zirwes won in the Architecture category of the Hasselblad Masters Award 2009 and 2010, and 1st Place in the Professional Architecture category of the Sony World Photography Awards in 2019.
