Stig Gælok

Stig Riemmbe Gaelok was born on 7 July 1961 in Divtasvuodna/Tysfjord. He is a Same author who has written 16 books (2011). He writes his books in Lule Same language (julevsámegiella) and Norwegian language (norsk). His first book, the poetry collection O, Oarjjevuodna, which was published in 1983, was the first collection of poems ever in Lule Same, and also the first book in Lule Same since Anta Pirak´s book Jåhttee saamee viessom, which was published 46 years earlier, in 1937, and was the first book ever written of a Lule Same in Lule Same language.
