Sukhmani Sadana

Sukhmani Sadana is an Indian writer and actress from Amritsar. She studied in Welham Girls School, Dehradun and did her graduation from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University. After this she did her Post Graduation in Advertising and Marketing from XIC, St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, Mumbai. She was married in 2015 but separated in a year. She played the role of Uttara Bakshi in the TV series Khotey Sikkey that aired on Sony Entertainment Television[1] Before acting was offered to her by Yash Raj Films, she was going about her career as a Copywriter in Ogilvy, Mumbai writing ads for brands such as Vodafone. .[2] She has written scripts for Directors such as Vikram Bhatt called 1920 London, a horror film genre. The film is third in sequel to 1920 (2008) and 1920: Evil Returns (2012).[3]

She has also written films for Kunal Kohli, Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, Endemol, Balaji, Netflix and others. While her writing career was rolling, her acting career picked up too. She won an award for ‘Best Actress’ in Digital Awards 2017 for her web series Love Bytes on Sony Liv.

She has was recently seen in Sacred Games as Bunty's sister Mikki. She also did a guest appearance in Anurag Kashyap Manmarziyaan, where she played the role of a dentist from Amritsar whom Abhishek Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu is supposed to marry.

Sukhmani has hosted more than 100 travel shows with channels such as NDTV Good Times, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, CNN IBN and Travel XP. She hosted live events with celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan Virat Kohli, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Suniel Shetty, and Ayushman Khurana. Her last big gig was hosting the IIFA Awards 2019.

She acted in more tv shows- naming a few like Heart break hotel for Sony Liv and Parchayee, Short stories by Ruskin Bond on Zee5. Her next web series as the lead actress is called Udan Patolas for Applause Entertainment Aditya Birla Group which she also wrote. Her next release as a writer is a feature film called Rocketry by R. Madhavan. Currently she is writing a film for Netflix by Ali Abbas Zafar Films and TV series for Alt Balaji.
