Susan Bradley-Cox

Susan Bradley-Cox (born November 9, 1937) is a triathlete from Paducah, Kentucky. She was named to the USA Triathlon Hall of Fame in 2011. She is the only athlete to be a member of Team USA who participated at the International Triathlon Union (ITU) Age group Olympic-distance World Championships consecutively from 1989-2010. In total, she competed in 22 ITU world championship events, winning a total 18 medals and 11 age group world titles. She won gold medals for the 50-54, 65-69, and 70-74 female age group. Bradley-Cox was named USA Triathlon Grand Masters Athlete of the Year in 1997 and 1998 and was selected as Masters Triathlete of the Year by Triathlete magazine in 1997.[1]

In the US, Bradley-Cox competed in 25 USA Triathlon National Championship events and earned 11 national titles. Bradley-Cox was second in her age group at the 1986 Ironman World Championship and competed in over 200 triathlons since the beginning of her career in 1982. She is also a founding member of the steering committee for the Susan Bradley-Cox Tri for Sight Triathlon,[2] which donates all proceeds to eye research at the University of Kentucky. In 2014, Bradley-Cox was inducted into the Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame[3]

She has served as the head coach for the Wildcat Masters Swim Team[4] and the Lexington Triathlon Coach for the Kentucky Leukemia/Lymphoma Society's Team in Training.[5]

Bradley-Cox has been interviewed on the Champion of Active Women podcast as part of the Active Women's Health Initiative at the University of Kentucky.[6][7]
