Svein-Inge Thime

Svein Inge Thime (15 December 1940 Randaberg, Norway - 4 August 2014[1]) was a Norwegian international football referee[2] and journalist.

Career

He officiated 12 international matches in 1972–85. He attributed five matches in World Cup qualifying 1978 (2), 1982 (1) and 1986 (2), two matches in EURO qualifying 1976 (1) and 1980 (1)[3] and others were in friendly matches include two Nordic Football Championship matches in 1974 and 1975. He also refereed a match in U21 EURO 1984.

In club football he officiated some UEFA competition matches such as UEFA Cup (14) and Cup Winners Cup (8).[4] He attributed 1973 Norwegian Football Cup Final.

Personal life

After active refereeing career he was head of the sports editorial staff in Stavanger Aftenblad.[5]

Awards

In 2012 he was awarded Hjallis Sportsmansship Trophy in Norway.[6]
