Tayyab Husain Rizvi

Tayyab Husain Rizvi is a Pakistan based lawyer, born and grew up in Lahore. His grandfather Justice Jamil Hussain Rizvi[1] was a Lawyer & Judge of Lahore High Court, his father, Zia Haidar Rizvi is a senior Tax Lawyer[2] & former Finance Minister Government of the Punjab and his brother Sajjad Husain Rizvi and cousin Tafazzul Husain Rizvi are also Lawyers. He is Secretary old Ravian Union and was appointed member Evacuee Trust Property Board of Pakistan by Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani[3].[4]

Biography

Rizvi's grandparents migrated from India to Pakistan and settled in Lahore so he was born and raised in Lahore. He completed his early education from Lahore. He graduated from Government College University and earned his Law Degree of LL.B. from University Law College, Lahore, and went to United States for Summer Programme Certificate in Corporate Law from University of Pennsylvania. He also passed Master in political science from University of the Punjab[5]. He chooses to follow his family profession to become a lawyer so he entered in legal profession and joined the law Chamber of Sardar Latif Khosa law Firm and subsequently become part of his own Law Frim Rizvi & Co. where he is Senior Partner.[6]

Professional Career

Rizvi is actively involved in the Bar activities and remained Member Executive Lahore High Court Bar Association 2004 and member Lahore Tax Bar Association, Lahore. He was appointed as Member Evacuee Trust Property Board of Pakistan by the Prime Minister of Pakistan[7]. He is keenly involved in the Lahore Gymkhana politics and contested election as a Member Executive Lahore Gymkhana Club with Kamran Lashari Group. 2020.[8] Rizvi family is a galaxy of lawyers[9][10].

Rizvi was elected Secretary Old Ravian Union Government College University 2018-20 [11] which is Pakistan's biggest and most prestigious Alumni Association of Government College University i.e. Old Ravian Union[12], whose members are spread all over the world who made it a great attraction for new aspirants to secure their admission in GCU and become its member for excellence.[13] He is endeavoring to upgrade and improve the Alumni Association of Old Ravian Union of Government College University.[14] Alumni organizes different events including seminars, conference, meeting, sports events, and annual dinner[15]. Presently he is contesting for senior Vice President Old Ravian Union[16].

Attorney of Umar Akmal Cricketer

Rizvi is Counsel and Advisor of International Cricketer Umar Akmal who was ban for three year by Pakistan Cricket Board on two incidents of contacts made by suspicious persons before the beginning of the Pakistan Super League-5 on Feb 20[17]. Rizvi filed an appeal against that ban of three year and independent Adjudicator of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced its decision on a disciplinary case involving middle-order batsman Umar Akmal and reduced his sentence of three-year ban to 18 months[18].[19]

Member District Assembly

Rizvi was elected as member District Assembly Kasur 2015-20 and Chairman Union Council[20], Dafto district Kasur on the ticket of Pakistan Muslim League N to make the betterment of general public. He actively participated and played his political role to serve the public until PTI present Government dissolved the local government system in 2019[21].[22]
