Tehran Von Ghasri
Tehran Von Ghasri or simply Tehran Ghasri (Persian: تهران قصری, Persian pronunciation: [tehrɑːn ɢæsriː]), professionally known as Tehran or sometimes Tehran SoParvaz, is an Iranian-American international comedian, actor, host, television and radio personality, entertainer of African-American and Persian descent. A close friend to Max Amini, Tehran was brought up in Washington D.C. where he started his career. He is a bilingual comedian in Persian and English.[1][2][3][4]

He was named after Tehran, the capital of Iran. As he said, his parents chose the name Tehran as a reminder of his Persian roots and culture.[5]
Early life
Tehran Ghasri was born in Washington D.C. to an Iranian father and African-American mother, who met each other in the college. Tehran's family is multicultural and multi-religious as well. His religious background is Muslim, Zoroastrian, Christian, and Jewish. Tehran had a bar mitzvah and has participated in numerous religious and culturally affiliated ceremonies. Tehran speaks several languages including Persian, which he also reads and writes, fluently. In a TV show launched by VOA Persian which called "Minutes With Max Amini" , he revealed his long-time friendship with Max Amini and said that Amini was his first motivator to be a comedian.[6] followed by a performance by Maz Jobrani at George Washington University which Maz encouraged him to move to Los Angeles and pursue comedy full time. Tehran holds degrees in international politics, economics from George Mason University.[7]
Early career
Tehran has hosted his own radio and TV shows on Rangarang and Tapesh Satellite TV, both of them are US-Based Persian language TV channels. He also performs stand-up comedy in clubs all over the U.S, mostly in Laugh Factory.[7]
