Teleon

In Greek mythology, Teleon (Ancient Greek: Τελέων, gen. Τελέοντος) was known as the father of two of the Argonauts, Butes and Eribotes.[1] Hyginus names Zeuxippe, daughter of the river god Eridanos, as his spouse and mother of Butes.[2] Apollonius describes Teleon as "virtuous" (ἀγαθός),[3] but beyond that, no information on this figure is available.

A scholiast on Argonautica considers Teleon, father of Butes, and Teleon, father of Eribotes, to be two distinct figures.[4] This probably makes sense given that the two Argonauts came from different regions of Greece, and there are no direct indications that they were brothers.
