Telomere resolvase

Telomere resolvase is an enzyme found in bacteria which contain linear plasmids.

Function

Linear plasmid contain hair pin turns at the ends. During DNA replication, an origin of replication bubble forms in the linear plasmid and expands to both ends until a circular plasmid-like structure is formed. Telomere resolvase then cuts the structure and reforms the hair pin turns forming two linear plasmids.
