The School (Norwegian band)

The School is a Norwegian indie rock and post-punk revival band from Trondheim, formed in 2004. In January 2006, the band released its self-produced Mädchen EP. It was only available in local shops. It contains four tracks and is now sold out. The release and live acts eventually led Kong Tiki Records label from Oslo to sign the band and release their first album on September 11, 2006, Espionage. This album was produced in Stugudalen at Larsville studio by John Fryer, who is famous for working with bands such as Depeche Mode, HIM and Nine Inch Nails.

To promote the album, a viral marketing attempt was made through a hidden page (see http://www.theschoolrock.com/code.php) from their website locked with a secret code that can be found in their album CD inlay. An unreleased track called "Killing The Night" was downloadable from this page. As of March 19, 2008, the page is no longer available and has been replaced by a generic FastPark.net landing page.

In the spring of 2008 the band started recording their second album in Carriage House Studios. The album is titled Destructive Sounds and was released in stores September 8, 2008.
